Police Constable/Warders recruitment in Andhra Pradesh Police Department
Qualification: The candidate must hold, as on 1st July, 2016, Intermediate or its equivalent examination recognised by the State Government. In the case of a candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, as on 1st July, 2016, he/she must have passed SSC or its equivalent examination recognised by the State Government and should have studied Intermediate and appeared for the Intermediate Examinations in both the 1st year and 2nd year. Note: The candidates who possess higher qualification than the prescribed one will also be considered for selection on par with the candidates who possess the prescribed qualification.

Selection Procedure/Scheme: Preliminary Written Test
The Preliminary Written Test will be held on 16.10.2016(SUNDAY) from 10.00 AM to 01.00 PM.(3 hours). The registered candidates may download their Hall Ticket from the website 10 days before the date of Preliminary Written Test.
Eligibility Conditions: A. (i) For the posts mentioned against Post Code Nos. 21 and 22, Men & Women are eligible. (ii) For the post mentioned against Post Code No. 53, Men are only eligible. (iii) For the post mentioned against Post Code No. 54, Women are only eligible.
Fee Structure : A) A prescribed fee for OCs/BCs is Rs. 300/- (Rupees three hundred only) and for SCs/STs is Rs. 150/- (One Hundred Fifty only) towards Applications Processing and Examination.
Mode of Payment of Fee: I Step: The candidate has to visit any of the Mee Seva (e-Seva) / AP Online/ TS Online centres to pay the prescribed Registration Fee by providing his / her Basic personal details like Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Community and SSC Hall Ticket Number or its equivalent. Amount should be credited in favour of Chairman, State Level Police Recruitment Board, Andhra Pradesh. II Step: After receiving the Payment Receipt from Mee Seva (e-Seva) / AP Online/ TS Online, the candidate has to visit the website recruitment.appolice.gov.in to submit the online application form. Even after making payment of fee, if the candidate fails to submit the Online Application Form, such cases shall be rejected without giving any notice and fee once paid will not be refunded in any case

The A.P. Police came into existence along with the formation AP State. Some parts of the present Andhra Pradesh state was ruled by the Asaf Jah dynasty. Some area was for a long time under the Vijayanagar dynasty that was founded by Sri Krishnadevaraya. The organization of the police during this period was called the Kaveli System or the Hindoo Police. In each village, town, city and district were stationed officers of police with gradations of rank and numbers of retainers commensurate with their ranges, from that of the humblest Kavilgar to the most powerful Poligar. The Kavilgars were entrusted the internal security and tranquility of the state. They were armed and paid by means of contributions from every inhabitant in addition to an assessment amount. The Poligars were expected to join the king’s army in times of external danger. They were entrusted with the safety of public property and were armed with the means and paid for the purpose of protecting it. They were held responsible and questioned for all thefts, robberies, depredation, detection and apprehension of public offenders.
