Job Description

ACCOUNTANT FOR AN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION BASED AT SASTHAVATTOM. KNOWLEDGE IN TALLY AND MS OFFICE IS MANDATORY WITH SPOKEN ENGLSIH. LOCAL CANDIDATES ARE PREFERRED. BOTH MALE AND FEMALE CANDIDATES CAN APPLY.

Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage the financial operations of our educational institution. The ideal candidate will handle budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, and compliance with educational and financial regulations. They should have strong analytical skills and experience in handling school or college accounting systems.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

Maintain and update financial records, ledgers, and accounts for the institution.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and income reports.
Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Ensure timely reconciliation of bank statements and other financial transactions.
Prepare periodic financial reports for management and board members.

Budgeting & Cost Control

Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
Monitor and control expenses to ensure financial stability.
Identify areas for cost reduction and resource optimization.
Ensure proper allocation of funds for academic and administrative needs.

Payroll & Tax Compliance

Process payroll for faculty, staff, and non-teaching employees.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including TDS, GST, and employee benefits.
File tax returns, statutory deductions, and financial audits as per government requirements.
Maintain accurate records of employee salaries, deductions, and allowances.

Fees & Student Financial Records

Manage student tuition fees, scholarships, and other financial transactions.
Ensure timely collection of fees and dues from students and sponsors.
Maintain records for fee payments, refunds, and outstanding balances.
Assist in financial aid and scholarship distribution.

Regulatory & Audit Compliance

Ensure compliance with financial regulations, educational policies, and audit requirements.
Assist in the annual audit process and respond to audit queries.
Maintain accurate documentation for government funding, grants, and financial aid.

Procurement & Asset Management

Oversee procurement, vendor payments, and contracts for school supplies and services.
Maintain records of fixed assets, depreciation, and capital expenditures.
Ensure proper accounting for grants, donations, and sponsorship funds.
