Job Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Accounts Associate for one of the leading companies in the insurance sector. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting entries for life insurance policies. They will be responsible for various critical accounting tasks including passing unit journals, policy loan reconciliation, and suspense analysis. The candidate should be proficient in using SAP and Excel and have prior experience with Life Asia or an equivalent policy administration system.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Passing Unit Journals:

Record and rectify unit journals based on requests from the Operations team.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

2. Policy Loan Reconciliation:

Perform monthly reconciliation of policy loans.
Ensure that policy loans are accurately reflected and reconciled with LMS (Loan Management System) balances.

3. Suspense Analysis:

Analyze policyholder suspense balances to identify issues.
Pass rectification entries in SAP.
Coordinate with the Operations and IT teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting.

4. Unit Linked Policy Analysis:

Analyze unit linked policies and pass necessary journal entries for rectification as per requests from the Operations team.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com).

Desired Skillsets

2-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the insurance industry.
Experience with Life Asia or equivalent policy administration systems.
Strong analytical skills to understand and rectify the flow of entries in insurance policies.
Proficiency in using Excel for data analysis and financial reporting.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, especially related to life insurance policies.
Proficient in using SAP for passing rectification entries and financial analysis.
Excellent Excel skills for data management and reporting.
Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with Operations and IT teams.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
