Job Description

The purpose of an airline ticket agent is to provide customers with information about airline services, assist with ticket purchases and reservations, check passengers in for flights, and provide general customer service. This role involves handling all aspects of customer ticketing, from initial inquiries and reservations to issuing tickets and boarding passes. The ticket agent must be knowledgeable about the airline's routes, fares, and services, as well as any restrictions that apply to flights. They must also be able to handle customer complaints professionally and courteously.

Job Summary

The Airline Ticket Agent is responsible for managing ticket sales and reservations while providing exceptional customer service. You will assist passengers with ticket bookings, changes, and cancellations, ensuring that all processes adhere to airline policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and proficient in using airline reservation systems to deliver a seamless travel experience.

Key Responsibilities

Ticketing & Reservations:
- Process airline ticket sales, changes, and cancellations efficiently using the airline's reservation system (e.g., Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo).
- Assist customers in selecting travel itineraries, seat assignments, and fare options based on their preferences and budget.
Customer Service:
- Provide prompt, friendly, and professional assistance to passengers via face-to-face interactions, phone, or online channels.
- Address inquiries related to flight schedules, pricing, baggage policies, and other travel-related information.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints while adhering to company policies and maintaining a positive customer experience.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Verify travel documents, including passports, visas, and identification, ensuring compliance with airline and government regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions, ensuring data integrity within the reservation system.
- Follow established procedures to handle sensitive customer information confidentially.
Sales & Promotion:
- Inform customers about current promotions, loyalty programs, and additional services that enhance their travel experience.
- Upsell ancillary services, such as extra baggage allowance, seat upgrades, and in-flight amenities when appropriate.
Operational Support:
- Collaborate with other team members and departments (e.g., check-in, customer service) to ensure smooth operations.
- Stay informed of schedule changes, flight delays, or cancellations and communicate updates to customers promptly.
- Assist in managing last-minute travel arrangements and emergency situations with a calm and efficient approach.
