Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical AML/Transaction Monitoring Analyst to oversee financial transactions, detect suspicious activities, and ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong investigative skills, and knowledge of AML laws and financial fraud detection.

Key Duties:
*Monitor transactions to detect suspicious activities
*Ensure compliance with AML regulations and internal policies
*Conduct investigations and file reports as needed
*Collaborate with compliance and risk teams

*Notice period / Only Immediate Joiners
*Experience: 1-2 years in AML/TM
*Salary: 30% hike on previous salary
*Work Model: Work from Office
*Rotational Weekly Off: (5 days working / rotational week off)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transaction Monitoring:

    • Monitor and analyze transactions in real-time to identify suspicious patterns or behaviors that may indicate money laundering, fraud, or other financial crimes.

    • Review and assess flagged transactions or customer activity reports from transaction monitoring systems (e.g., Actimize, SAS, or other AML software).

    • Conduct ongoing monitoring of high-risk accounts, large transactions, and complex transactions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  2. Investigations and Analysis:

    • Investigate potentially suspicious transactions and customer behaviors by collecting, analyzing, and reviewing relevant data.

    • Document investigation findings, including the nature of the suspicious activity, potential risks, and evidence supporting the analysis.

    • Prepare Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) or equivalent documentation and escalate them to the compliance team or relevant authorities when necessary.

  3. Risk Assessment:

    • Assist in assessing and identifying customers or transactions that may be deemed high-risk based on internal risk policies or regulatory requirements.

    • Provide input into customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and ongoing risk assessments of clients or accounts.

    • Help assess and monitor compliance risks, providing recommendations for mitigating actions when required.

  4. AML Compliance:

    • Ensure that all activities and transactions are in full compliance with AML laws, regulations, and industry standards.

    • Assist in maintaining and updating the organization's AML policies and procedures in line with changes in regulations and best practices.

    • Stay updated on developments in AML regulations and trends to effectively manage and mitigate new risks.

  5. Reporting:

    • Generate regular and ad hoc reports for senior management regarding transaction monitoring results, investigations, and compliance.

    • Prepare detailed reports and summaries of findings for external auditors, regulatory bodies, or law enforcement agencies, when necessary.

    • Maintain a log of all suspicious activities, investigations, and their outcomes, ensuring thorough documentation for future reference and regulatory audits.

  6. Collaboration with Internal Teams:

    • Collaborate with other departments, such as Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Customer Service, to resolve issues and ensure seamless AML processes.

    • Liaise with senior management to discuss trends, emerging risks, and to update the organization on the status of ongoing investigations or suspicious activity.

  7. Customer Due Diligence (CDD) & Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD):

    • Assist in performing CDD and EDD on clients, ensuring that all customer onboarding and monitoring is done in accordance with regulatory requirements.

    • Ensure that KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures are followed, and complete checks to verify the identity and legitimacy of clients.

  8. Internal Audit and Compliance Checks:

    • Assist with internal audits of AML processes and transaction monitoring activities to ensure proper documentation and adherence to compliance requirements.

    • Work with internal and external auditors to address any gaps or non-compliance issues identified during audits.

  9. Training and Awareness:

    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development in AML regulations and best practices.

    • Support the creation and delivery of training programs to raise awareness of AML policies among staff.
