Assistant Professor Jobs opportunity in Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar)

Qualification : Ph. D. with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree with a very good academic record throughout. The applicants having provisional certificate for Ph.D. degree are also eligible to apply. In addition, applicants for the faculty positions in Civil, and Chemical Engineering Departments must have their B.Tech/BE degree in respective discipline only. However, the requirement of the basic degree in Civil engineering may be waived off in the case of exceptionally qualified candidates in accordance with the following: (i) Water Resources Engineering: Candidates having a basic degree in Agricultural Sciences/Agricultural Engineering or other allied fields having research orientation towards experimental, theoretical and numerical/modeling aspects of soil-water-plant interaction may also apply. (ii) Geomatics Engineering: Candidates having a basic degree in Earth Sciences and adequate exposure to Surveying having research orientation towards Remote Sensing, GIS, etc. may also apply. Experience : A minimum of 3 year of post Ph.D. teaching / research / industrial experience. Eligible candidates with less experience may be put on Tenure Track positions as Assistant Professor (on contract) which may be regularized subsequently on completion of minimum experience requirement and satisfactory performance in teaching and research during the period of contract appointment at IIT Ropar on the recommendations of an Assessment Committee.
