Job Description

An Automotive AC Technician installs, services, and repairs vehicle air conditioning (AC) systems. They diagnose problems, perform repairs, and ensure the AC system operates efficiently. This role requires strong troubleshooting, communication, and technical skills.

· Age below 28

Key Responsibilities

Diagnosis and Repair

Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot air conditioning system issues in a wide range of vehicles, including cars, vans, and light trucks.
Identify problems related to compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, and refrigerant levels.
Use diagnostic tools and gauges to assess system pressures and detect leaks or malfunctions.

System Maintenance

Perform routine maintenance and servicing of automotive air conditioning systems, including refrigerant recharging, filter replacement, and system flushing.
Clean and replace components such as cabin filters, hoses, belts, and fuses related to the HVAC system.

Refrigerant Handling

Recover, recycle, and recharge refrigerants following safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Ensure proper handling of refrigerants like R-134a, R-1234yf, or other gases as per vehicle specifications and legal compliance.
Maintain refrigerant usage records for tracking and auditing purposes.

Component Replacement and Installation

Remove and install air conditioning components such as compressors, blower motors, thermostats, and sensors.
Calibrate and test new components to ensure correct performance and system efficiency.
Ensure correct alignment, sealing, and electrical connections during installation.

Testing and Quality Control

Conduct post-repair performance testing to verify the functionality of the AC system.
Monitor temperature output, airflow, and pressure readings to confirm compliance with manufacturer standards.
Document findings, repairs performed, and parts used in job cards or service records.

Customer Service and Communication

Communicate effectively with service advisors or customers regarding the condition of their vehicle’s AC system.
Explain repair options, estimated costs, and timelines in a clear and professional manner.
Ensure customer satisfaction by providing prompt and accurate service.
