Job Description

Typically involves the assembly, testing, and quality control of air conditioning units. These roles may include tasks like inspecting components, operating machinery, ensuring adherence to manufacturing standards, and troubleshooting any issues that arise during the production process.

Key Responsibilities:

1. AC System Diagnosis:

Inspect vehicle air conditioning systems to identify mechanical, electrical, or refrigerant issues.
Use diagnostic tools such as AC gauges, leak detectors, multimeters, and scanning devices to troubleshoot AC faults.
Perform system pressure checks, temperature tests, and visual inspections.

2. Repairs and Replacements:

Repair or replace damaged or worn components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, blower motors, and AC hoses.
Remove and install AC system components following OEM guidelines.
Perform soldering, welding, or fabrication tasks if necessary for fittings or brackets.

3. Refrigerant Handling and System Servicing:

Recover, evacuate, and recharge refrigerant in accordance with safety standards and environmental regulations.
Use correct refrigerant type (e.g., R-134a or R-1234yf) and fill the system with precise pressure and volume.
Detect and seal refrigerant leaks to prevent environmental damage and system failure.

4. Preventive Maintenance and Testing:

Perform routine checks on belts, filters, and electrical circuits related to HVAC systems.
Clean and sanitize AC ducts and vents for optimal air quality.
Test system performance after service to ensure proper cooling and airflow.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain records of repairs, refrigerant use, parts replaced, and labor time.
Fill out job cards and service reports accurately.
Communicate technical findings and repair needs clearly to service advisors or customers.

6. Customer Service:

Explain AC problems and repair options to customers in a clear, professional manner.
Advise customers on maintenance schedules to avoid frequent AC failures.
Provide feedback on repeated AC issues to support quality assurance and improvement.
