Job Summary
The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining medical devices and systems to improve patient care and advance healthcare technologies. This role involves collaborating with clinical professionals and cross-functional teams to translate complex medical requirements into innovative, safe, and effective products. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has a strong technical background, and is committed to improving health outcomes through engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development:
- Develop and design biomedical devices and systems, ensuring they meet clinical requirements and regulatory standards.
- Utilize CAD software and simulation tools to create and refine product designs.
- Collaborate with clinicians and other stakeholders to gather product requirements and feedback.
Testing & Validation:
- Plan and execute testing protocols to validate device performance, safety, and efficacy.
- Analyze test data, identify areas for improvement, and implement design modifications as needed.
- Ensure all products comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO).
Project Management:
- Manage projects from concept through development and into production, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Provide ongoing support for existing biomedical equipment, troubleshooting issues and implementing upgrades.
- Develop maintenance protocols and training materials for end users.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on emerging biomedical technologies and industry trends.
- Propose and implement process improvements to enhance product performance and operational efficiency.
