Breast Surgery Fellowship at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata
Qualification: MS (General Surgery) or DNB (General Surgery) or MRCS with 2 years experience in General Surgery
Tenure/ Duration of the Fellowship Programme: One Year
Details about the position:
- This post offers comprehensive training in breast oncological surgery, in a busy unit which sees about 500 new breast cancers each year.
- The candidate is expected to have a broad understanding of multidisciplinary management of breast cancer.
- Clinical responsibilities of the post will include regular outpatient clinics, in which both new and follow up patients will be seen, inpatient ward rounds and night on call commitments on the Surgical Oncology rota.
- There will be ample opportunity to attend operating sessions and wide ranging training will be provided in breast surgery, including management of impalpable lesions and all approaches to breast conservation including pedicled flaps and implant reconstruction.
- The candidate will be expected to present patients for discussion at the weekly MDT meeting, and will also make presentations at other clinical and academic meetings.
- Research is encouraged, and support for clinical research may be provided for suitable projects.
