Job Description
We are looking for a resilient, empathic business development executive to contribute to the growth of our company. Business development executives are responsible for finding and retaining clients, encouraging extant clients to purchase added products or features, and remaining abreast of changes in consumption. You will also be required to build capacity in staff through regular training and mentorship.
To be successful as a business development executive, you should attend networking events with the intention of attracting and retaining clientele. Ultimately, an outstanding business development executive will keep a close eye on clients' feedback to ensure that our products and services always exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation and Prospecting:

Identify and research potential business opportunities in various markets.

Generate leads through outbound activities such as cold calling, networking, and attending industry events.

Qualify leads based on their needs, potential, and fit with the company’s services or products.

Follow up with potential clients to build relationships and convert leads into opportunities.

Sales and Negotiation:

Approach prospects and present the company’s offerings in a compelling way to generate sales.

Negotiate terms and close deals, ensuring both client satisfaction and company profitability.

Maintain and grow relationships with current and potential clients, understanding their needs and delivering customized solutions.

Work with the sales team to set and meet sales targets and KPIs.

Market Research and Competitor Analysis:

Research the market to identify emerging trends, new technologies, and competitors.

Collect feedback from clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to better understand market demands.

Use the insights gathered to recommend adjustments to the business development strategy.

Provide management with insights and recommendations on how to better position the company’s offerings.

Customer Relationship Management:

Maintain a healthy and ongoing relationship with clients, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.

Address client concerns and issues, working toward a timely and effective resolution.

Regularly check in with clients to gauge satisfaction and identify potential upsell or cross-sell opportunities.

Assist clients in identifying new needs and how the company’s solutions can help.

Proposal Development and Presentations:

Create and deliver customized proposals, presentations, and product demonstrations based on client requirements.

Provide clear, professional documentation for client agreements, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs).

Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, product, and operations to prepare proposals that meet client expectations.

Reporting and Documentation:

Keep accurate records of all client interactions, sales activities, and business development activities in the CRM system.

Regularly update management on sales progress, forecasts, and performance metrics.

Monitor and analyze sales data to ensure that business development strategies are effective and aligned with organizational goals.

Strategic Planning and Collaboration:

Collaborate with senior management to develop business development strategies and plans that align with the company’s goals.

Coordinate with marketing teams to ensure the business development efforts are supported by effective campaigns.

Participate in the development of new products and services based on market needs and feedback from clients.

Event Planning and Networking:

Represent the company at networking events, trade shows, conferences, and other relevant events.
