Job Description
We are looking for a resilient, empathic business development executive to contribute to the growth of our company. Business development executives are responsible for finding and retaining clients, encouraging extant clients to purchase added products or features, and remaining abreast of changes in consumption. You will also be required to build capacity in staff through regular training and mentorship.
To be successful as a business development executive, you should attend networking events with the intention of attracting and retaining clientele. Ultimately, an outstanding business development executive will keep a close eye on clients' feedback to ensure that our products and services always exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation and Prospecting:

Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, potential clients, and emerging markets.

Develop and execute strategies for generating leads through various channels, including cold calling, networking, email outreach, and social media.

Qualify leads to ensure they meet the company’s target client criteria and have potential for long-term partnerships.

Sales and Negotiation:

Develop sales strategies and tailor pitches to meet the specific needs of potential clients.

Reach out to prospective clients through calls, emails, and meetings, and deliver presentations to highlight the company’s services or products.

Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers at client organizations to drive business acquisition.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients to ensure mutually beneficial deals.

Client Relationship Management:

Foster strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients to promote client retention.

Serve as a liaison between the client and the internal team to ensure smooth communication and timely delivery of services/products.

Regularly check in with clients to gather feedback, address any issues, and ensure their needs are being met.

Market Research and Competitive Analysis:

Conduct research on competitors, industry trends, and client needs to inform sales strategies.

Stay updated on industry developments, market conditions, and competitor offerings to ensure the company maintains a competitive edge.

Gather and analyze data on customer feedback to provide insights that can inform product/service improvements.

Sales Reporting and Documentation:

Maintain and update detailed records of all sales activities, client interactions, and business opportunities in CRM software.

Provide regular updates and reports on sales progress, lead conversion rates, and performance metrics to management.

Track KPIs and sales performance against targets and assist in adjusting strategies to meet business goals.

Collaboration with Internal Teams:

Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer support teams to align business development efforts with organizational goals.

Communicate customer needs and market trends to help refine product offerings and tailor marketing strategies.

Collaborate with the sales team to ensure smooth handovers from lead generation to the final sale.

Event and Networking Participation:

Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote services and meet potential clients.

Develop and maintain a strong network of industry professionals, clients, and partners to drive business growth.

Proposal and Contract Preparation:

Prepare and present proposals for potential clients, highlighting the company’s solutions and benefits tailored to the client’s needs.

Assist in drafting and finalizing contracts, ensuring all terms are clearly defined and agreed upon by both parties.

Client Onboarding and Project Handover:

Support the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring they receive excellent customer service from day one.

Ensure a smooth handover of the project or business deal to the operations or delivery team, ensuring clarity on client requirements and expectations.
