Business Development Executive
Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Business Development Executive to drive sales and marketing for our School Mobile App. The ideal candidate should be proficient in creating presentations, documents, and reports (PDFs, Excel, and Word) while also managing content workflows. The role involves visiting schools, pitching the app, collecting feedback, and preparing analytics reports to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
· Identify and target potential customers through various channels (social media, email, phone, contact, own generated leads).
· Build relationships with key decision-makers and influencers like school principals , secretary etc.
· Reaching out to new customers and explaining them the benefits of products.
· Identify and qualify new markets, products, or services to expand existing customer base.
· Conduct cold calls, emails, meetings to pitch solutions to potential customers.
· Conduct product demos and presentations to showcase app features and benefits.
· Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed quarterly targets.
· Collaborate with development teams (marketing, product) to align sales efforts.
· Provide customer feedback and insights to improve app development.
· Regularly visit market for new leads and following up existing leads.
· Identify and visit potential schools to promote and sell the mobile app.
· Conduct presentations and live demonstrations for school decision-makers (principals, administrators, etc.).
· Build relationships with key stakeholders in the education sector.
· Negotiate deals and close agreements with schools.
· Analyzing customer's requirements and providing them solutions as per their needs.
· Achieving sales targets by acquiring new clients.
· Lead test-and-learn efforts - gather and analyze data in a rigorous statistical manner, and uncover insights to optimize app marketing efforts and inform future testing.
· Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress towards goals.
· Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
· Develop customized proposals and business models to cater to client needs.
· Provide feedback from customers and partners to the product development team to refine app features and functionalities.
· Prepare reports and presentations on performance metrics, key deals, and market trends.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
· Revenue Growth:
Target: Achieve a specified percentage increase in revenue within a defined time frame (e.g., 20% Quarterly growth).
Client Acquisition:
Target: Acquire a specific number of new clients monthly or quarterly that is minimum 15 new clients per quarter.
Partnerships Established:
Target: Secure a defined number of strategic partnerships (e.g., 2 partnerships per quarter).
· Lead Conversion Rate:
Target: Convert at least 40% of qualified leads into active clients.
· Customer Retention:
Target: Maintain a client retention rate of 90% or higher.
· Market Insights Delivered:
Target: Provide actionable market research reports or insights quarterly.
· Proposal Success Rate:
Target: Secure approval on at least 50% of submitted proposals.
· App Engagement Metrics:
Target: Collaborate with the product team to achieve specific app-related goals, such as increasing user downloads by 25% or boosting daily active users (DAU).
· Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Target: Ensure timely delivery of insights and support to other teams (e.g., monthly alignment meetings with marketing and product teams).
· Client Satisfaction:
Target: Achieve an average client satisfaction score of 90% or higher based on feedback.
Presentation Analytics & Reporting (Excel Proficiency Required):
- Maintain a database of schools visited, leads generated, and deals closed.
- Use Excel to prepare sales reports, track performance, and generate insights.
- Create pivot tables, charts, and dashboards to analyze sales trends and customer engagement.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities and present reports to management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in sales/marketing, preferably in EdTech or school-related services.
- Ability to pitch and sell mobile app promotion services effectively.
- Expertise in closing deals and handling objections.
- Strong negotiation skills to achieve win-win outcomes.
- Ability to travel frequently to meet school representatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, charts, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working independently.
- Experience in creating and formatting PDFs, Word documents, and reports.
- Ability to design and manage content workflows for better efficiency.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently for school visits and client meetings.
- Two Wheeler is mandatory

Compensation:
- Fixed Salary: ₹15,000 - ₹18,000 per month.
- Performance-Based Incentives:
- 4% - 5% of quarterly sales revenue.
