Job Title: Chemist
Department: Laboratory / Research and Development / Quality Control / Production
Location: Vizag, Andhra Pradesh (with initial work in Udaipur, Rajasthan)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Chemist with expertise in metallurgy to join our dynamic team in the metal industry at our manufacturing setup in Vizag. The ideal candidate will leverage their strong background in chemistry and metallurgy to analyze and enhance the properties of metal materials, ensuring our products meet industry standards and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Chemical and Metallurgical Analysis: Conduct analyses of metal samples to assess their composition, properties, and performance.
Material Testing: Perform mechanical and physical testing to evaluate the quality and suitability of metal products.
Alloy Development: Develop and optimize metal alloys and formulations to meet industry and customer specifications.
Quality Assurance: Investigate and resolve quality and performance issues related to metal products, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product development, quality improvement, and process optimization teams.
Laboratory Equipment Utilization: Operate and maintain specialized laboratory equipment for metallurgical analysis.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of experiments, test results, and research findings.
Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the laboratory and manufacturing areas.
Industry Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies in metallurgy.
Troubleshooting: Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of production issues related to metallurgical processes.
Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to production staff, assisting in process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education: Master’s degree (MSc) or higher in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Experience: Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in metallurgical analysis, alloy development, or quality control within the metal industry.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of metallurgical principles, metal characterization techniques, and industry standards.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with data analysis software and laboratory information management systems.
Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Team Player: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Safety Mindset: Commitment to safety and adherence to quality standards.
