Job Description

A CNC Operator (Computer Numerical Control Operator) is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precise parts and components based on engineering drawings and specifications. The CNC Operator ensures that the machines are working properly and that the produced parts meet the required standards of quality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

Set Up CNC Machines:
Load materials into the CNC machines as per job requirements.
Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
Program CNC machines using appropriate software (if applicable) to perform specific operations such as milling, drilling, turning, or grinding.
Operate CNC Machines:
Monitor machine operations to ensure that parts are being produced to specifications.
Make adjustments to machine settings and tooling as required to ensure product quality and reduce downtime.
Operate CNC machines safely while maintaining efficiency and productivity.
Quality Control:
Inspect and measure parts produced using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Ensure parts are within specified tolerances and quality standards.
Document inspection results and report any issues or deviations from standards.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines to ensure they remain in good working condition.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical, electrical, or software-related issues with CNC machines.
Report major mechanical or software issues to supervisors for more advanced repairs.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of machine operations, maintenance, and inspection results.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and comply with safety regulations.
Communicate any operational issues, delays, or material shortages to supervisors.
