Counter Sales Executive
Job Description
- Should guide store visitors and sell the products.
- Responsible for all stores functions.
- Shall be responsible for maintaining all store records.
- Preparation of stocks statements.
- Preparation of Purchase Orders.
- Day to day issues and receipts, ledgers, stock statement reports and DMR
- Preparation of Daily & Monthly Consumption Report.
- Checking of received Material with invoice and purchase order.
Required Skills:
- Should have computer Knowledge
- Good listening, presentation and decision making skills
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Sales
-
Greet walk-in customers warmly and assist them with product inquiries and purchases.

Understand customer needs through active listening and recommend appropriate products or services.

Demonstrate product features, explain specifications, and offer comparisons to help customers make informed decisions.

Promote ongoing sales offers, discounts, or loyalty programs to boost sales.

Upsell and cross-sell additional products or services to increase average transaction value.

Handle customer queries, complaints, or feedback professionally, and ensure timely resolution or escalation if needed.
Point of Sale (POS) & Transactions

Operate the billing system and process customer purchases accurately using cash registers or POS software.

Handle different types of payments including cash, credit/debit cards, UPI, or digital wallets.

Generate invoices, receipts, and warranties as per transaction and maintain records properly.

Manage cash drawers, ensure correct change is returned, and balance daily sales transactions.

Ensure that all sales entries are recorded systematically and report any discrepancies to the manager.
Product Display & Stock Management

Ensure that products are neatly arranged and labeled at the counter and shelves for easy customer access.

Replenish stock at the counter as needed and notify the manager of low-stock items.

Maintain product knowledge and stay updated about new arrivals, prices, and features.

Assist in stock-taking, tagging, barcoding, and inventory control during audits or restocking.

Handle fragile, valuable, or perishable goods with care and responsibility.
Customer Relationship Management

Build a rapport with repeat customers to encourage loyalty and return business.

Collect customer information (with consent) for follow-ups, service reminders, or marketing promotions.

Keep customers informed about product launches, special offers, or upcoming promotions.

Offer after-sales support when necessary, such as warranty information, repairs, or returns.
Cleanliness & Organization

Keep the sales counter clean, organized, and visually appealing throughout the day.

Ensure all promotional materials, price tags, and product displays are correctly placed and updated.

Follow safety and cleanliness standards as per the company’s operational guidelines.

Help maintain a pleasant and professional atmosphere in the store.
