Job Description
Summary
The CRA Officer primarily assists the Fair Lending Officer in identifying and mitigating risks associated with the Community Reinvestment Act under a Multi-State Organization. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining required documentation to support compliance with laws governing the CRA and will be responsible for producing various daily, bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports used by bank management in addition to coordinating various fair lending initiatives across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reporting Duties
Conduct legal research and act as a resource on the interpretation of local, state, or federal laws and regulations.
Monitor pricing and underwriting outcomes and report results quarterly
Maintain active knowledge of current and upcoming legislation, regulations, legal opinions, legal developments, and trends in the fair and responsible lending field and inform and update Compliance and colleagues of the same.
Assist with projects that primarily call for research, data analysis, writing, and/or mapping skills
Utilize systems to produce reports and other data
Produce written descriptions of data analysis methodology, data display, conclusions and recommendations.
Read, understand, analyze, and report on various policies, practices, and decisions, often using a CRA impact outlook.
Assist in preparation of periodic loan activity reporting and submissions, regulatory examinations or ad-hoc assignments as required.
Assist in the update of policies and procedures as needed

Education And/or Experience
5+ years of experience in financial institution environment, specifically in lending. Emphasis in CRA or relative subject a plus. Should have 3+ yearsâ experience in a leadership role.
Certifications/designations a plus. Experience in the relative field considered.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a time sensitive environment.

Reporting Including
- Monthly and quarterly reports
- Annual and periodic Fair Lending reporting
- Develop/enhance Fair Lending Risk Assessment covering all areas of business and loan products
- Conduct peer comparison and mapping
- Assign, plan, and structure reviews; prepare written summaries of test results; compile statistical data from test results.
- Coordinate the recruitment, training, and assignment of outreach programs.
- Collaborate and coordinate with local organizations to partner with programs
- Prepare written reports summarizing testing of the program on a regular basis, as assigned
- Help organize other activities in support of community goals (i.e. assist in securing and delivering workshops on fair housing to community groups, congregations, and other)
- Assist with, and participate in, other Open Communities programs and events as assigned.
- Bridge gaps/introduce lenders to applicants and the reverse
- Maintain required training in a self-paced environment
- Provides employees assistance with questions and issues that may arise
- Customer Service â Responsible for fostering the FirstBank Experience to our internal customers, FirstBank associates.
- Adhere to Policy and Procedures - Responsible for all compliance with bank policies, procedures, and operational integrity.
