Position Overview:

A Delivery Boy plays a vital role in the logistics and customer service departments of a business by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods and packages to customers. This job involves collecting items from the warehouse or store and delivering them to the customer’s location, often within strict timeframes. The position requires a responsible, punctual, and customer-oriented individual who can handle physical tasks and navigate efficiently across delivery routes.

Key Responsibilities:

Pickup and Delivery:
- Collect parcels, food orders, documents, or goods from the assigned location.
- Deliver items to customers or clients on time and in good condition.
- Ensure that delivery confirmation or receipt is obtained from the customer.
- Double-check the items before delivery to ensure they are accurate and complete.
Route Planning and Navigation:
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to minimize time and fuel usage.
- Use GPS or mobile apps to find the best delivery routes.
- Adapt routes in case of traffic, road closures, or weather conditions.
Customer Service:
- Interact politely and professionally with customers.
- Address any issues or questions related to the delivery.
- Maintain a friendly attitude even under pressure or during busy times.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery time, location, and customer signatures.
- Report any delays, accidents, or delivery problems to supervisors.
- Ensure cash or payment-on-delivery transactions are handled correctly and recorded.
Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance:
- Take care of the delivery vehicle (bike, scooter, or van), ensuring it is in good working condition.
- Report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Keep delivery bags and gear clean and organized.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Qualification:
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. In some cases, no formal education may be required if the candidate has strong driving skills and experience.
Valid Driving License:
A valid license for the type of vehicle used (e.g., two-wheeler, four-wheeler) is mandatory.
Driving Skills:
Must be confident and experienced in driving in different traffic and weather conditions.
Time Management:
Ability to deliver items quickly and efficiently, managing multiple deliveries within deadlines.
Communication Skills:
Basic verbal communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues. Knowledge of the local language is usually essential.
Physical Fitness:
Should be fit and able to lift packages, walk short distances, and sit for long periods during travel.
Technological Proficiency:
Ability to use smartphones and delivery apps for receiving tasks, navigation, and reporting.
