Desktop Support Engineer
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

Desktop & Laptop Repair:
-
Perform hardware and software troubleshooting, installation, and configuration for desktops, laptops, and other related devices.

Diagnose and repair issues related to operating systems, hardware malfunctions, drivers, software conflicts, and peripheral devices.

Printer Support:
-
Provide support for printers, including troubleshooting, installation, and configuration of networked and local printers.

Address and resolve issues related to print queues, connectivity, and driver installations.

Customer Support (Online and Offline):
-
Provide remote and on-site support for customers, addressing their technical issues and providing effective solutions.
-
Respond to and resolve service requests related to desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.

CCTV Installation & Configuration (Optional):
-
Install and configure CCTV cameras and related hardware for client sites as needed.
-
Provide troubleshooting support for CCTV systems, ensuring functionality and connectivity.

System Installation & Configuration:
-
Software Installation & Configuration:
-
Install and configure software applications as required by end-users.
-
Ensure that all installed software is compatible with the hardware and fully functional.

Operating System Installation:
-
Install and configure operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) on desktops and laptops.

Ensure proper configuration of system settings to optimize performance.

Network Connectivity:
-
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network connections, including wireless and LAN setups.
-
Assist users with configuring network settings, printers, and other devices.

Documentation & Reporting:
-
Maintain Technical Records:
-
Document all issues, repairs, and resolutions in a ticketing system or CRM.
-
Maintain logs of hardware and software installations, configurations, and updates.

Generate Reports:

Provide reports on issues, work completed, and customer feedback to the IT Manager.
-
Monitor the status of unresolved technical issues and escalate as necessary.

General IT Support:

User Training:

Provide basic training and guidance to end-users on using hardware, software, and troubleshooting common issues.

Educate users about security practices, data backup, and system maintenance.

System Updates:

Perform regular updates on operating systems, antivirus software, and other applications to ensure that systems are secure and up to date.
