Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Setup and Operation
-
Operate DRO milling machines to manufacture components as per engineering drawings and job orders.

Set up tools, fixtures, and materials for machining operations, including proper workpiece clamping and alignment.

Adjust machine controls and DRO settings for precision milling, drilling, and slotting.
2. Reading and Interpreting Drawings
-
Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and job instructions to determine specifications and tolerances.

Identify correct tooling and machining processes based on the material and job requirements.

Follow detailed process sheets and work instructions to produce accurate parts.
3. Quality Assurance
-
Perform in-process inspection using precision instruments like Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators.

Ensure dimensions and tolerances are maintained throughout the machining process.

Record and report any non-conformities or deviations from specifications.
4. Machine Maintenance
-
Perform routine maintenance on milling machines, including lubrication, cleaning, and minor adjustments.

Report any mechanical issues or abnormalities to the maintenance department or supervisor.
-
Keep work area clean, organized, and free from hazards as per 5S and safety guidelines.
5. Productivity and Reporting
-
Maintain accurate logs of daily production, including job completion time, rework if any, and material used.

Ensure machine output meets or exceeds daily production targets with minimal scrap or rework.

Collaborate with shift supervisors and team members to streamline operations and resolve issues.
