Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our team and teach students from Class 6 to 12. The ideal candidate should have a strong command of the English language, excellent teaching skills, and the ability to engage students effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Lesson Planning and Delivery:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in English literature, grammar, composition, reading comprehension, and writing.
- Design lesson plans that align with the curriculum for Class 6 to 12, keeping in mind students' varying levels of proficiency.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and materials (multimedia, online resources, etc.) to engage students.
- Adapt lessons and teaching methods to suit students with different learning styles and abilities.
Student Assessment:
- Assess students’ progress through tests, quizzes, assignments, projects, and presentations.
- Provide constructive feedback on students' work to help improve writing, speaking, and comprehension skills.
- Grade homework, essays, and other assignments in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of student performance.
- Hold one-on-one meetings or small group sessions with students to provide additional support.
Classroom Management:
- Maintain a well-organized, disciplined, and respectful classroom environment.
- Implement strategies to ensure active student participation and minimize disruptions.
- Encourage critical thinking and foster an atmosphere where students feel confident to express their ideas and opinions.
Engagement with Parents and Staff:
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding students' progress, behavior, and any areas of concern.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, and other school-related events.
- Collaborate with other teachers to ensure an integrated approach to the students' overall education.
Promote a Love for Literature:
- Encourage students to explore various forms of literature, including novels, short stories, poetry, and plays.
- Lead discussions, book clubs, or activities that help deepen students' understanding of literary works and themes.
- Use creative approaches, such as storytelling, debates, and drama activities, to make learning more engaging.
Professional Development:
- Stay up to date with the latest teaching methods and educational technologies.
- Participate in professional development workshops, seminars, and training to improve teaching practices.
- Continuously assess and improve personal teaching techniques based on student feedback and performance.
Support for Exam Preparation:
- Help students prepare for internal and external examinations, including national exams, school assessments, and college entrance exams.
- Provide guidance on exam strategies, time management, and effective study habits.
- Prepare and administer mock exams and practice tests to build confidence.
