Summary:
As the General Manager Operations in the Warehousing, you will play a key role in ensuring that the warehouse functions smoothly, efficiently, and safely. You will be responsible for leading a dedicated team, optimizing the processes, and ensuring that the customer must receive the services as per the agreed terms on time. Your leadership should help to create a positive and supportive work environment where everyone can thrive.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development:
Lead by example, inspiring and motivating the team to achieve their best.
Foster a culture of collaboration, respect, and continuous learning.
Provide guidance and mentorship to repartees, other members in the Ops team and supporting to their professional growth.
Conduct regular performance reviews and offer constructive feedback to help team members succeed.
Daily Operations Management:
Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring that goods are received, stored, and shipped efficiently.
Collaborate with the team to identify and implement improvements that enhance workflow and reduce waste.
Maintain inventory accuracy through regular checks, ensuring that we always have what our customers need.
Safety & Well-being:
Prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone in the warehouse.
Ensure that all team members are trained in and follow safety protocols.
Regularly review and update safety procedures to keep up with industry standards and regulations.
Address any safety concerns promptly and proactively.
Customer-Focused Service:
Ensure that our customers receive their orders on time and in perfect condition.
Work closely with the customer service team to understand customer needs and address any issues quickly and effectively.
Strive to exceed customer expectations, fostering long-term relationships based on trust and reliability.
Strategic Planning & Innovation:
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategies that align with our company’s goals.
Stay informed about industry trends and innovations, bringing new ideas to the table to keep our operations cutting-edge.
Lead initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the overall performance of the warehouse.
Financial Responsibility:
Manage the warehouse budget responsibly, ensuring that resources are used efficiently.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the financial health of the warehouse.
Implement cost-saving measures without compromising the quality of service or the well-being of your team.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Logistics. A Master’s degree is a plus.
10-12 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a focus on team development and empowerment.
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma is a bonus.
A problem-solving mindset, with the ability to make thoughtful decisions under pressure.
Skills:
