Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Generative AI Trainee Software Engineer with a focus on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to join our innovative AI team. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about combining state-of-the-art generative models with information retrieval systems to create intelligent and context-aware AI applications. As a trainee, you will collaborate with experienced professionals to design, build, and optimize RAG pipelines, while learning the fundamentals of integrating retrieval systems with large language models (LLMs).

Key Responsibilities:

RAG Pipeline Development:

Assist in designing and building RAG architectures that combine retrieval systems (e.g., vector databases, Elasticsearch) with LLMs.
Develop and optimize pipelines to retrieve relevant context and enhance the accuracy and relevance of generative AI outputs.

Data Management and Retrieval:

Collect, preprocess, and index large-scale datasets for retrieval tasks.
Work with tools like Pinecone, Weaviate, or FAISS to implement vector-based retrieval mechanisms.

Model Integration:

Integrate retrieval systems with generative AI models such as GPT, BERT, or similar transformer-based architectures.
Implement fine-tuning strategies to improve RAG performance for specific use cases.

Experimentation and Evaluation:

Conduct experiments to test and compare different retrieval and generation strategies.
Evaluate system performance using metrics such as retrieval precision, relevance, and generation quality.

Collaboration and Learning:

Work closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and product teams to understand project requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in RAG, LLMs, and related AI technologies through research and training.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong programming skills in Python; familiarity with ML frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Basic understanding of information retrieval concepts and machine learning fundamentals.
Familiarity with REST APIs and basic integration techniques.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS) or traditional retrieval tools like Elasticsearch.
Understanding of transformer-based models and generative AI frameworks.
Knowledge of embeddings and similarity search techniques.
Exposure to tools like LangChain or Haystack for building RAG pipelines.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for scalable deployments.
