Job Description
Key Responsibilities

Designing HVAC Systems:

Design and develop HVAC systems for buildings, taking into consideration factors such as building size, climate, and energy efficiency.

Create and review system schematics, layouts, and blueprints using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.

Select appropriate equipment, such as HVAC units, ductwork, piping, insulation, and controls, based on the design requirements.

System Installation and Commissioning:

Supervise the installation of HVAC systems, ensuring all components are set up correctly and safely.

Work with contractors and construction teams to install HVAC equipment in compliance with local building codes and safety regulations.

Perform system testing and commissioning to ensure proper functionality of heating, cooling, ventilation, and air quality systems.

Energy Efficiency and Sustainability:

Ensure HVAC systems are energy-efficient and compliant with environmental standards and regulations.
-
Advise on energy-saving solutions and implement sustainable practices, such as the use of renewable energy sources, efficient insulation, and optimized airflow.

Conduct energy audits to analyze the performance of existing HVAC systems and recommend improvements.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

Diagnose and resolve problems with HVAC systems, including issues with air temperature, airflow, pressure, humidity, and equipment failure.

Perform regular maintenance on HVAC equipment, including cleaning, inspections, and replacement of worn-out components.

Ensure all systems are operating at peak performance to reduce downtime and repair costs.

Client Consultation and Support:

Meet with clients to understand their HVAC needs, assess building requirements, and provide cost-effective solutions.

Provide technical advice to clients regarding system optimization, upgrades, and maintenance schedules.

Respond to client queries and concerns, ensuring satisfaction and addressing issues as they arise.

Regulatory Compliance and Documentation:

Ensure that HVAC systems comply with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including building codes, environmental laws, and safety standards.

Maintain accurate records of designs, installations, inspections, maintenance, and repairs.

Prepare reports and documentation for clients, government agencies, and regulatory bodies.

Project Management:

Manage HVAC projects from initial design to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.

Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project deadlines and specifications are met.

Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment for HVAC systems and ensure quality control standards are maintained.

Training and Development:

Stay updated with the latest HVAC technologies, regulations, and trends through continuous education and professional development.

Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians, ensuring they are familiar with best practices for HVAC system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
