Job Description

Ph.D Programme recruitment in Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar

The Institute invites application for its regular Doctoral Programme starting from August, 2016. Indian nationals satisfying the following criteria are eligible to apply: M.Sc. in Physics with a minimum of 55% marks (in aggregate) or equivalent CGPA cumulatively till the last year/ semester. (Candidates appearing for M.Sc. in 2016, and who satisfy any of the criteria (2) as mentioned below can apply. Their admission will be treated as provisional.)

A valid GATE score with rank upto 200,OR CSIR NET (JRF) within the last one year (Examinations held in June and Dec 2015),OR DST-INSPIRE fellowship for carrying out Ph.D.

(Candidates are required to upload the supporting documents regarding GATE/ NET/ DST-INSPIRE and produce the same in original at the time of selection.) If a candidate has a rank beyond 250 in JEST-2016 but satisfies the criteria mentioned above, she/he is encouraged to apply.

Fellowship  :Scholars are paid a fellowship of Rs. 25,000/- p.m. Thereafter, scholars are placed in Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) grade and are paid Rs. 28,000/- p.m. In addition.

During the first two years of the Ph.D program


Eligible candidates are required to appear for a written test at around 10 AM in the morning of 3 May, 2016 or 31 May, 2016 (depending on the choice of the candidate) at IOP, Bhubaneswar.
