Roles and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include taking measurements, cutting fabric according to patterns, and assembling garments.
Requires proficiency in using sewing machines, sergers, and other equipment.
May involve alterations to existing garments to fit individual customers.
Specializes in creating custom-made garments tailored to individual clients.
Works closely with clients to understand their preferences and measurements.
Provides personalized recommendations on fabric selection, style, and fit.
Oversees the manufacturing process in a tailoring workshop.
Coordinates with designers, tailors, and other staff to ensure timely completion of orders.
Manages inventory, budgeting, and resource allocation to optimize production efficiency.
Assists customers in selecting ready-to-wear garments or placing custom orders.
Provides information on fabric choices, sizing, and pricing.
Handles transactions and addresses customer inquiries or concerns.
Ensures that finished garments meet quality standards.
Inspects garments for defects in stitching, fit, and overall construction.
Identifies and addresses any issues before products are delivered to customers.
Educates aspiring tailors on sewing techniques, pattern making, and garment construction.
