Job Description
Asst Public Prosecutor/Additional Govt Pleader cum Asst Public Prosecutor recruitment in Lakshadweep Administration-Collectorate on contract basis
Essential Qualifications : A degree in law from a recognized university. Desireable Qualifications : (i) Thorough knowledge of Civil & Criminal procedure, Evidence Act and basic principles of law & Constitution. (ii) Communication skill in English & Malayalam Language. Experience : (i) Minimum three years experience at the Bar is essential (ii) Appearance in at least 10 cases before trial court(s) on before 31.03.2016
Selection Criteria : The Expert/Selection Committee will select the candidates on the basis of their professional ability at the time of walk in interview. The awarding of marks/criteria for finalization of candidates is the sole discretion of the Appointing Authority. The decision of the appointing authority will be the final in respect of the matter in case of any dispute arising in selection process.

Period of Contract : One year only
Remuneration : A consolidated remuneration of Rs.40,000/-(Rupees Forty thousand) per month. No other allowances will be admissible. The appointee shall also not be entitled to any benefits like PF, gratuity etc. TA/DA during engagement period for special duty will be given the rate same as applicable to the scale of pay of regular APP.
Age : The candidates applying for the contractual engagement should not be more than the age of 35 years on the closing date of submission of application. The upper age limit is relaxable for the following categories subject to production of valid supporting documents. (i) Relaxable up to five years for SC/ST/PH candidates. (ii) Reladable up to three years of OBC candidates.

The entire Union Territory of Lakshadweep is considered as one district. Earlier the district was divided into four Tehsils. At present there are 10 Sub Divisions. While the Sub Divisional Officers coordinate development activities in 8 islands, in Minicoy and Agatti the Sub Division is under a Deputy Collector. Administration Secretariat was shifted from Kozhikode to Kavaratti in March 1964. With increase in various plan schemes and fund allocation, the necessity of decentralization of department was felt and accordingly in 1972 new offices were created.
