Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to join our team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in developing and maintaining mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and IMS DB/DC. This role offers a hybrid work environment, allowing flexibility in both office and remote work settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and IMS DB/DC.

Analyze business requirements and translate them into efficient technical solutions on the mainframe platform.
Perform code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure the quality and reliability of applications.
Optimize and enhance existing mainframe applications to improve performance and scalability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, QA, and support teams, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and prompt resolution.
Document technical specifications, procedures, and best practices for mainframe application development and maintenance.
Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in the mainframe environment to ensure continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
Mainframe Development: Extensive experience in developing applications on the mainframe platform.

Programming Languages: Proficiency in COBOL and JCL.
Database Management: Strong knowledge of DB2 and IMS DB/DC for database management and transaction processing.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex business requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly.
Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with CICS for transaction processing.

Experience with Agile methodologies and working in a DevOps environment.
Basic knowledge of modernization techniques for mainframe applications, including integration with distributed systems.
Experience Required:
A minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe application development and maintenance. Educational Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is Preferred.
