Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and Development

Design mechanical systems, components, and products using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo).

Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing and assembly.

Research materials, technologies, and engineering methods to develop cost-effective and functional designs.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, production, and quality departments to align design requirements.
2. Analysis and Testing

Perform engineering calculations related to stress, load, pressure, and tolerances.

Conduct simulations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to test and validate design feasibility.

Build prototypes and perform physical testing to ensure product functionality and reliability.

Analyze test data and results, modifying designs as necessary for optimal performance.
3. Project Execution
-
Plan and manage engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.

Develop BOMs (Bills of Materials), process documentation, and manufacturing instructions.

Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and contractors for sourcing components and fabrication services.

Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and engineering evaluations.
4. Maintenance and Troubleshooting
-
Support plant operations and manufacturing teams in solving mechanical issues on equipment or machinery.

Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.

Analyze root causes of equipment failures and provide corrective actions.
-
Recommend upgrades or modifications to improve reliability, efficiency, or safety.
5. Compliance and Quality

Ensure all mechanical designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality norms (e.g., ASME, ISO, ANSI).

Conduct inspections and quality checks on mechanical systems and components.

Maintain accurate engineering documentation, reports, and logs.
6. Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, product designs, and operational efficiency.

Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Contribute to innovation initiatives and cost-reduction strategies.
