Job Description
SRZ Consulting Services is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Medical Billing Process Associate to join our dynamic team. As a Medical Billing Process Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our medical billing operations. You will be responsible for managing insurance claims, processing payments, and maintaining accurate records to support the financial health of our healthcare clients.
Key Responsibilities:Claims Processing:
- Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies and government programs.
- Verify the completeness and accuracy of patient information and insurance details before claim submission.
- Monitor and track the status of submitted claims, ensuring timely follow-up on unpaid or denied claims.
Payment Posting and Reconciliation:
- Accurately post payments received from insurance companies, patients, and other sources to the appropriate accounts.
- Reconcile posted payments with bank deposits and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions for auditing and reporting purposes.
Denial Management:
- Review and analyze denied claims to identify reasons for denial.
- Prepare and submit appeals or corrected claims to insurance companies to resolve denials.
- Communicate with insurance companies and healthcare providers to address and resolve claim issues.
Patient Billing and Support:
- Generate and send patient statements and invoices.
- Assist patients with billing inquiries and provide information regarding their accounts.
- Establish payment plans for patients and follow up on overdue accounts.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements in all billing and documentation processes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Prepare and maintain accurate billing records, reports, and documentation.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree or certification in medical billing and coding preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical billing or a related healthcare field.
- Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
