Key Responsibilities:
- Assign appropriate codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Review clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with insurance and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify information in medical records.
- Resolve coding discrepancies and provide feedback for improvements in documentation practices.
- Maintain knowledge of updates in coding guidelines and regulations.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance providers and follow up on denied claims.
- Participate in audits and quality assurance processes to maintain coding accuracy.
- Transcribing patient information into appropriate medical codes
- Examining medical documents and records for missing information
