Key Responsibilities:
1. Crane Operation:
-
Operate mobile cranes (hydraulic, telescopic, or all-terrain cranes) to lift and move heavy materials and equipment in line with job requirements.

Read load charts, follow lifting plans, and ensure that lifting is performed within crane capacity and safety limits.

Execute precision lifts using hand signals or radio instructions from riggers or site supervisors.
2. Pre-Operational Checks and Setup:
-
Perform daily inspections and operational checks of crane systems, including brakes, gears, controls, cables, and safety devices.

Set up cranes properly at the job site using outriggers and other stabilizing equipment.

Ensure ground conditions are suitable for safe crane operation.
3. Load Handling and Placement:
-
Safely attach and detach lifting equipment (slings, chains, hooks) and verify the load is secure and balanced before lifting.

Maneuver loads carefully to avoid accidents, swinging, or tipping.

Position loads accurately at designated spots as per supervisor instructions.
4. Safety and Compliance:

Follow all relevant safety procedures and company regulations during crane operations.

Adhere to national safety codes and standards (such as OSHA or regional equivalents).

Report hazards, near-misses, equipment malfunctions, or unsafe conditions immediately.
5. Maintenance and Record-Keeping:

Conduct routine maintenance of crane equipment including lubricating parts, checking fluid levels, and cleaning.

Log daily operations, inspection reports, and maintenance tasks performed.

Coordinate with the maintenance team for major repairs or technical issues.
6. Site Support and Teamwork:

Assist in the setup or disassembly of crane booms and rigging as required.

Cooperate with site personnel, including riggers, signalmen, engineers, and safety officers.

Follow instructions from site management and work according to project timelines and priorities.
