Job Description

  • Prepare and arrange surgical instruments and supplies before procedures.

  • Assist surgeons during operations by providing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.

  • Monitor patients' vital signs and anesthesia effects during surgery.

  • Ensure adherence to infection control and sterilization protocols.

  • Maintain accurate surgical records and inventory of OT supplies.

  • Work closely with the surgical team for smooth operation flow.

  • Key Responsibilities:

    1. Pre-Operative Duties

    • Prepare operation theatre by ensuring all necessary surgical instruments and equipment are ready.

    • Assist in positioning and preparing the patient for surgery.

    • Verify patient details, medical history, and consent forms before the procedure.

    2. Intra-Operative Duties

    • Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and technicians during surgery.

    • Monitor patient’s vitals and condition throughout the procedure.

    • Handle surgical instruments, sponges, sutures, and other OT materials.

    3. Post-Operative Care

    • Ensure safe transfer of patients to the recovery room.

    • Monitor patient’s condition post-surgery and provide required medical care.

    • Assist in wound dressing and administering medications as prescribed.

    4. OT Maintenance & Documentation

    • Maintain sterility and infection control protocols in the operation theatre.

    • Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste as per hospital guidelines.

    • Maintain surgical records, equipment logs, and inventory of OT supplies.
