Ph.D. Program conducts in Indian Institute of Technology Indore

Applications are invited from highly motivated and research-oriented students for the admission to PhD Program in the following areas of specializations of different disciplines as per the below-mentioned categories of admission and time schedule.

Admissions are offered under the following categories:

FA (Fellowship Awardee): Fellowship Awardees from the agencies such as CSIR, UGC, NBHM, etc. OR JRF/SRF project staff working in a Sponsored

Research Project under a faculty member PI of the project) of IIT Indore. The scholarship will as per the rules/guidelines of the concerned funding agency.

TA (Teaching Assistantship): Teaching Assistantship with scholarship as per MHRD guidelines.

SW (Sponsored WITHOUT Institute scholarship): Sponsored from a reputed Industrial or Research organization. (Full time)

IS: Institute staff (part time) WITHOUT any scholarship from the Institute.

EC:External Category Candidates from the central services and central government employees.

DF: Serving personnel in the defense forces WITHOUT any scholarship from the Institute.

(A) School of Engineering

Qualifying Degree and Examination : 1. Minimum first class* Master degree in the relevant discipline of the Engineering/Technology, OR 2. Minimum first class* Bachelor degree in the relevant Engineering/ Technology discipline from a reputed Institute with a valid GATE score, OR 3. BTech degree from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 8.0 OR 4. Minimum first Class* Master degree in the relevant discipline of Science with valid GATE qualification OR UGC/CSIR-JRF qualification OR equivalent fellowship.

(B) School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS)

Qualifying Degree and Examination : 1. Minimum first Class* Master degree in concerned discipline of HSS with UGC-JRF qualification or UGC-NET qualification or Equivalent Fellowship, OR 2. Minimum first Class* in the course work component (if any) of the M.Phil. degree in the concerned discipline of HSS, OR 3. BTech from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 8.0. OR 4. Minimum first Class* Master degree in Science/Engineering/Social Sciences/International Business with UGC-JRF qualification or UGC-NET or CSIR-NET or Equivalent Fellowship.

(C) School of Basic Sciences

Qualifying Degree and Examination : 1. Minimum first class* Master degree in the relevant science discipline with valid UGC/CSIR-JRF/GATE or Equivalent Fellowship, OR 2. Minimum first class* M. Tech/M. Phil degree in relevant discipline, OR 3. Minimum first class* Bachelor degree in the relevant Engineering/ Technology discipline with a valid GATE score OR 4. B.Tech from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 8.0.

(D) Inter-Disciplinary Research Group on Biosciences and Biomedical Engineering (BSBE)

Qualifying Degree and Examination : 1. Minimum first class* Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering / Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Biomedical / Chemical / Biotechnology / Signal Processing / Aerospace OR 2. Minimum first class* bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering / Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Biomedical / Chemical / Biotechnology / Signal Processing / Aerospace Engineering with a valid GATE qualification or UGC/CSIR-JRF or equivalent fellowship OR 3. B. Tech. degree from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 8.0 OR 4. Minimum first class* master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biomedical Science, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Physics, System Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biophysics with a valid GATE qualification or UGC/CSIR-JRF qualification or equivalent fellowship.

(E) Inter-Disciplinary Research Group on Astronomy

Qulifying Degree and Examination : 1. Minimum first class* Master degree in the relevant science discipline with valid UGC/CSIR-JRF or equivalent fellowship or GATE qualification, OR 2. Minimum first class* Master degree in the relevant discipline of Engineering/Technology, OR 3. Minimum first class* Bachelor degree in the relevant Engineering/ Technology discipline with a valid GATE score OR 4. BTech from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 8.0.
