IASST-Deakin Fellowship Program /1 Post
The Institute invites applications against the following vacancies for admission into the Ph.D. program for the year 2017-18.
1.Traditional Knowledge based Drug Development and Delivery
Qualification: M.Sc. Biochemistry/Zoology (Cell Biology)/M.Pharm
2. Computational Condensed Matter Physics
Qualification: M. Sc. in Physics
3.Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Qualification: M. Sc. In Physics
4.Nanoscience and Nanotechnology
Qualification: M. Sc. in Chemistry / Nanotechnology
Eligibility: Candidates shall be eligible to apply for admission and registration within the ongoing program of research at IASST leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), if he/she has obtained 55% marks in aggregate (Equivalent CGPA in 10 point scale) in the master’s degree examination. A candidate belonging to SC/ST who has obtained 50% marks in aggregate in master degree examination shall also be eligible to apply.
Selection Procedure: List of applicants selected to appear in the entrance test will be uploaded in the IASST website. The expected dates of Entrance test followed by the interview will be displayed in website/communicated to candidates selected for entrance test.
Fellowship/Financial support for regular PhD programme of IASST:
Selected candidates will be required to join the Ph.D. program of IASST within a week’s time from the date of announcement of result. The selected candidates shall be eligible for a monthly stipend and annual contingency as per the recent circular of DST, Govt. of India on fellowship for PhD. Subject to availability, selected candidates will be provided single room, well-furnished accommodation in the Dorothy Hodgkin Student and Scientists Home as per the Institute’s rule. Candidates are requested to visit the Institute’s website for updated details time to time.

Eligibility Criteria: M.Sc. Biochemistry/Zoology (Cell Biology)/M.Pharm.65% and above in Graduation and Post-Graduation,Research publications and NET qualification preferred. Mandatory English Language Score required (If IELTS, overall IELTS score of 7.0 with no band less than 6.5 for Faculty of Health at Deakin).
Value & Benefits: 100% tuition fee waiver of Deakin University, Australiam Joint supervision by Deakin and IASST researchers, One off visit to Deakin upto 6 months.
Remuneration: Remuneration for the period of research in Australia will be governed as per the norms of Deakin India Research Initiative (DIRI) program of Deakin University and for the remaining period as per the norms that guides research fellowship of DST, Govt. of India
