Job Overview

A Pizza and Pasta Maker is responsible for preparing high-quality pizzas, pasta dishes, and related Italian cuisine items. The role requires expertise in dough preparation, sauce-making, and cooking techniques to create delicious, authentic dishes. Attention to detail, food safety knowledge, and creativity in recipe customization are key aspects of this position.

Key Responsibilities

1. Food Preparation & Cooking

Prepare fresh pizza dough, sauces, and pasta from scratch or pre-prepared ingredients.
Cook pizzas using ovens, grills, or brick wood-fired ovens as per recipe specifications.
Boil, sauté, and assemble pasta dishes with appropriate sauces and toppings.
Ensure consistent taste, presentation, and portioning of dishes.

2. Kitchen Operations & Hygiene

Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent contamination.
Store ingredients properly to maintain freshness and quality.

3. Recipe Customization & Innovation

Experiment with new recipes, toppings, and pasta varieties to enhance the menu.
Modify dishes based on customer preferences or dietary restrictions.
Collaborate with chefs to introduce seasonal or special menu items.

4. Equipment Handling & Maintenance

Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as pizza ovens, pasta rollers, and dough mixers.
Ensure ovens are preheated and set to correct temperatures for cooking.
Report any malfunctioning equipment for timely repairs.

5. Customer Interaction & Service (if working in an open-kitchen setting)

Prepare and present food in an engaging manner for customers.
Take special orders and ensure dietary accommodations are met.
Work efficiently during peak hours to manage high-order volumes.
