Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) invites application for the position Principal Research Establishment Officer

Total Emoluments : Rs. 1,92,311/- per month (approx.)
i. Level (as per 7th CPC): 13
ii. Pay Scale : Rs. 1,23,100 – 2,15,900
Minimum Qualification: M.Tech./ M.S. in Electrical Engineering/ Electronics Engineering plus 13 years relevant experience OR Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering/ Electronics Engineering plus 10 years relevant experience
Desirable:
i. The person should have experience in the area relevant to sensors development- including flexible printed sensors, electrochemical and microfluidic-based sensors.
ii. He/ she must have a proven track record of leading an R&D team in the areas of flexible printed sensors development including sensing element fabrication and characterisation, industry project management, cleanroom management and establishment cutting-edge flexible printed sensors fabrication and characterisation facilities.
iii. The person should have worked in academia and industry, involved in industry project management while leading an R&D team in flexible printed sensors prototype development. Experience in flexible printed (especially polyaniline based) thermal sensors and gas sensors prototype development including setting up parameters and target specifications, sensing element design, ink formulation, sensing element array printing, encapsulation, preconditioning, sensing and improving Technology Readiness levels (TRL) will be highly valued.
iv. Certification in six sigma and design of experiments will have an added advantage.
v. Proven track record in setting up flexible printed sensors fabrication and characterisation facilities, project technical reports preparation as well as hiring and managing an R&D team.
Job Specification: The person will lead an R&D team for flexible electronics based sensor devices and processes, to productize the research concepts developed in the Centre, and support the research and development activities. In addition to leading the R&D team, the person is expected to acquire and manage projects in the field of flexible electronics
Age Limit: 50 years i.e. born on or after 01-07-1971
