Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Selection & Negotiation:
- Identify, evaluate, and select vendors that meet company requirements.
- Negotiate contracts and terms to secure the best pricing, quality, and service levels.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure vendor selection aligns with company needs and goals.
- Contract Management:
- Develop and maintain vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Monitor and enforce contract terms, renewals, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Performance Management:
- Regularly assess and evaluate vendor performance, ensuring they meet agreed-upon deliverables, timelines, and quality standards.
- Conduct performance reviews with vendors and provide constructive feedback.
- Resolve vendor-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Relationship Management:
- Foster and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key vendors.
- Act as the main point of contact for vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with vendors to ensure smooth operations and mitigate risks.
- Cost Control & Budgeting:
- Monitor vendor invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
- Track and manage vendor spending, striving for cost reduction and process improvements.
- Risk Management:
- Assess and mitigate risks related to vendor relationships and service delivery.
- Monitor the market for potential disruptions, supply chain risks, or changes that could impact vendor performance.
- Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure all vendor contracts and activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.
- Prepare reports on vendor performance, spending, and issues for senior management.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost-saving initiatives within vendor management.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in vendor management.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Proven track record of successfully managing vendor relationships and contracts.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple vendors and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with procurement and vendor management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Certifications (optional):
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is a plus.
