The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production floor to ensure efficient manufacturing processes. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, optimizing workflow, and meeting production targets.
Key Responsibilities:Supervision & Leadership
- Manage and oversee the production team, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company policies.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate employees to enhance performance and skill development.
- Assign tasks and monitor progress to meet production schedules.
Production Management
- Ensure smooth workflow and resolve any production-related issues.
- Monitor equipment functionality and coordinate maintenance when required.
- Collaborate with other departments (Quality, Maintenance, Logistics) to streamline operations.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure production meets company standards and customer requirements.
- Conduct quality checks and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment following 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
Health & Safety
- Enforce workplace safety guidelines and compliance with OSHA or other relevant regulations.
- Conduct safety briefings and ensure employees use PPE properly.
- Investigate and report any incidents, implementing corrective measures.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement lean manufacturing techniques.
- Reduce waste, improve efficiency, and optimize production workflows.
- Participate in Kaizen events or other productivity enhancement initiatives.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of production output, downtime, and performance metrics.
- Prepare daily/weekly reports on productivity, efficiency, and safety incidents.
- Communicate updates and challenges to upper management.
