Job Description
A Proprietary Trader (Prop Trader) is responsible for trading financial assets using the firm's capital with the goal of generating consistent profits while adhering to strict risk management rules. This role requires a deep understanding of financial markets, strong analytical skills, and discipline in executing trades.
Key Responsibilities:- Trade various financial instruments (stocks and options) using the firm’s capital.
- Develop and implement trading strategies based on technical and fundamental analysis.
- Manage risk effectively by following firm-imposed drawdown limits, position sizing, and stop-loss strategies.
- Monitor market trends, news, and economic events to capitalize on trading opportunities.
- Maintain a trading journal and analyze performance for continuous improvement.
- Adapt to market conditions and refine strategies as needed.
- Follow the proprietary firm’s policies, rules, and compliance guidelines.
- Proven track record of profitable trading or successful completion of the firm’s evaluation process.
- Strong knowledge of market analysis, risk management, and trading psychology.
- Proficiency with trading platforms such as MetaTrader, cTrader, NinjaTrader, TradingView, or proprietary firm software.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make quick, informed decisions.
- Self-discipline, consistency, and the ability to trade independently.
- Experience in proprietary trading or institutional trading.
- Knowledge of algorithmic trading and automated trading systems.
- Understanding of market microstructure and order flow analysis.
- Familiarity with backtesting and strategy optimization tools.
- Performance-based payouts through a profit-sharing model.
- Potential for increased capital allocation based on performance.
- Access to advanced trading tools, educational resources, and mentorship.
- Flexible work environment (remote or office-based, depending on firm policies).
