Job Summary:

A Quality Control Technologist in a Seafood Export Company is responsible for ensuring that seafood products meet regulatory, customer, and export quality standards. The role involves inspection, testing, monitoring processing conditions, and maintaining hygiene standards in compliance with food safety regulations such as HACCP, FSSAI, FDA, EIC (Export Inspection Council of India), and EU regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Inspection & Testing

Conduct physical, chemical, and microbiological analysis of seafood products.
Inspect raw materials, processing stages, and finished products for freshness, texture, odor, and contaminants.
Monitor temperature control, water quality, and storage conditions.

2. Compliance with Food Safety Standards

Ensure compliance with HACCP, FSSAI, EIC, USFDA, EU, and other export regulations.
Implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and ISO 22000 guidelines.
Assist in conducting internal and external food safety audits.

3. Process Monitoring & Quality Control

Monitor seafood processing, freezing, packaging, and storage to ensure consistency.
Identify and address deviations in product quality, weight, moisture content, and labeling.
Ensure proper use of food additives and preservatives within legal limits.

4. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain detailed records of inspections, lab tests, and non-conformities.
Prepare reports for management, auditors, and export regulatory bodies.
Handle customer complaints related to product quality and safety.

5. Hygiene & Sanitation Management

Oversee cleaning and sanitation procedures for production areas and equipment.
Train staff on personal hygiene, cross-contamination prevention, and proper seafood handling.

6. Coordination with Production & Export Teams

Work closely with production managers, suppliers, and logistics teams to ensure timely shipment of quality-approved seafood products.
Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality improvement.
