Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Coordination:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the rice milling process.
Coordinate with workers to ensure all machinery and equipment operate efficiently.
Schedule and assign tasks to machine operators, technicians, and laborers.

Production Management:

Monitor production schedules to meet daily and monthly output targets.
Ensure that the milling process follows standard procedures and complies with industry regulations.
Manage the rice cleaning, husking, whitening, and polishing processes to produce high-quality rice.

Quality Control:

Inspect rice at various stages to ensure quality standards are met.
Identify and rectify any defects or inefficiencies in the milling process.
Ensure proper storage and packaging of milled rice to maintain quality.

Maintenance and Safety:

Monitor and maintain the mill machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Implement safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
Arrange for timely repairs or replacements of damaged machinery and tools.

Inventory and Reporting:

Keep track of raw materials (paddy) and finished product inventories.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
Ensure accurate recording of production data for internal audits and inspections.

Staff Management and Training:

Train and guide employees on best practices and safety regulations in rice milling.
Address performance issues and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Ensure all workers follow safety guidelines and comply with company policies.

Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Qualification: High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in agriculture, mechanical engineering, or a related field can be beneficial.
Experience: Previous experience in rice milling or grain processing industry, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of rice milling machinery, process optimization, and preventive maintenance.
Communication: Strong leadership and communication skills to manage teams and ensure smooth operations.
Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly identify issues in the milling process and implement corrective actions.
Attention to Detail: Ensure precision and consistency in milling processes to maintain high-quality output.

Working Conditions:

Typically, the supervisor will work in a mill environment, with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
The role may require standing for extended periods and managing operational activities during shifts, including nights and weekends.
