Job Description

Purpose: The primary purpose of this Seafood Cost Accountant is to gather financial data for inventory purchases, distribution networks, logistics routes, optimal inventory levels and changes in these metrics against customer bids / contracts.
The position needs to be well versed in data and financial analysis and have a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
• Gather and analyze every cost component of inventory on a monthly basis. This includes:
o Landed product costs
o Inbound Freight o Warehousing Costs
o Transfer Freight
o Drayage o Demurrage
o Sales discounts and allowances
o Outbound Freight
o Inspection Costs
o Packaging
• Compare monthly costs to customer bid pricing
• Develop a system whereby sourcing understands the maximum purchase price allowed for each SKU
• Assists with data gathering for new bids and validates each cost component against existing results with our pricing team.
• Suggest cost reducing and profitable solutions
• Evaluates the effectiveness of our domestic sourcing / production initiatives
• Conducts seafood market research to anticipate the effect of global economies on future raw material supply and pricing.
