Service Engineer Jobs Opening in HITECH IMAGING SOLUTIONS at Kolathur, Chennai
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation and Commissioning:
-
Install and commission Prepress machines (CTP systems, workflow software, plate processors) and Post Press equipment (cutting, binding, folding, and laminating machines) at client locations.

Perform machine setup, alignment, calibration, and configuration according to manufacturer specifications and customer requirements.

Conduct initial test runs and quality checks after installation to ensure optimal performance.
2. Servicing and Preventive Maintenance:
-
Carry out routine preventive maintenance on Prepress and Post Press equipment based on scheduled service intervals.

Inspect machinery parts, detect wear and tear, replace consumables, and lubricate mechanical components to avoid breakdowns.

Update maintenance records and service logs as per company standards.
3. Troubleshooting and Repairs:
-
Respond promptly to client service calls related to equipment malfunction, software issues, or mechanical/electrical faults.

Diagnose problems using tools and test equipment, and execute repairs on-site or guide customers remotely, when appropriate.

Coordinate with the technical support team or OEM vendors if advanced support or spare parts are required.
4. Client Training and Support:
-
Train clients on operating procedures, basic troubleshooting techniques, safety practices, and preventive maintenance.

Provide clear documentation, operating manuals, and service reports post-installation or repair work.
-
Offer advice on equipment upgrades, part replacements, and best practices to improve efficiency and equipment longevity.
5. Spare Parts & Inventory Coordination:
-
Monitor usage of spare parts and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
-
Raise requests for parts procurement and track deliveries for client servicing.
-
Maintain tools, service kits, and testing equipment in good condition.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
-
Maintain detailed records of service calls, machine status, work performed, time spent, and parts used.

Submit service reports and customer feedback to the Service Manager regularly.

Assist in generating service performance data for audits, customer follow-ups, and product improvement analysis.
7. Compliance and Safety:
-
Follow all safety guidelines and ensure the correct use of tools and PPE while working on machinery.
-
Ensure that machines are compliant with regulatory standards post-servicing or installation.

Identify and report any safety hazards at client sites and recommend corrective action.
8. Continuous Learning and Product Updates:
-
Keep updated with technical advancements in printing technology and machinery.
-
Attend product training sessions, technical workshops, and online modules provided by OEMs or in-house trainers.
-
Share knowledge and technical insights with peers and junior technicians when needed.
