Job Description
Typical duties include:
- Assessing patients and gaining their trust.
- Planning and delivering patients’ care.
- Monitoring patients’ progress.
- Taking samples, pulses, temperatures and blood pressures.
- Monitoring and administering medication.
- Writing records.
- Supervising junior staff.
- Organising workloads.
- Providing emotional support to patients and relatives.
- Tutoring student nurses.
- Advising patients and relatives on health-related issues.
Responsibilities:
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitoring patient health and recording vital signs.
- Communicating effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records.
- Collaborating with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Providing education to patients about managing illnesses and post-hospital recovery.
- Ensuring that the healthcare facility's policies and procedures are followed.
