Station Officer recruitment in Lakshadweep Administration- Department of Fire Protection & Control

Qualification : 1) Degree from UGC recognized University with Science subject. 2) Station Officers course (Diploma) of National Fire Service College, Nagpur or equivalent. Work Experience Two years experience in a recognized Fire Service Organization.
Scale of Pay : Rs.9300-34800/-
Age : 20-30 yrs
Stages of Examination :
(i) Physical standard
1) Height: 5' 5'.
2) Chest: 32' with minimum expansion of 2'.
(ii) Physical Endurance
(Must qualify in at least 5 out of 8 items of the physical efficiency test showing the minimum standard of efficiency noted against each item.)
1). Race: 100 Mtrs. in 14 seconds.
2). High jump: 132.20 cm.
3). Long jump: 457.20 cm.
4). Shot put throw 7264 gins (At a distance of 609.60 cm) .
5) Throwing the Cricket Ball 6096 cm.
6). Rope Climbing (Only Hand) 365.80 cm.
7) Pull up or chin up 8 times.
8). 1500 metres Race- 5 minutes and 45 seconds.
(iii) Medical Standard
Eye Sight: Must be certified to possess visual standard specified below without glasses:
i) Right Eye: Distance vision: 6/6 near vision: 0.5
ii) Left Eye: 6/6 ( Snellen)0.5 ( Snellen)
iii) Each eye must have full field of vision. iv) Colour blindness, squint or any morbid condition of the eyes or lids of either eye shall be deemed to be a disqualification.
Written Examination : Total marks: 100 Marks. The written test shall consist of tuu multiple choice objective type question carrying one mark each which will have to be answered in 120 minutes (Two Hours) duration by the candidates. 75% of the questions would test Technical subject specific knowledge and 25% would test the knowledge of the candidates on Science, Mathematics, Social Science (History, Geography, Economy & Political), Knowledge of the candidates about the History & Geography of Lakshadweep and general awareness of the candidate on current issues of national and international importance. The level of questions will be of Graduation standard and the medium of Question paper will be in English. Candidates have to secure a minimum of 45% Marks (40% Marks for SC/ST candidate) to qualify the written examination.

About Company
The entire Union Territory of Lakshadweep is considered as one district. Earlier the district was divided into four Tehsils. At present there are 10 Sub Divisions. While the Sub Divisional Officers coordinate development activities in 8 islands, in Minicoy and Agatti the Sub Division is under a Deputy Collector. Administration Secretariat was shifted from Kozhikode to Kavaratti in March 1964. With increase in various plan schemes and fund allocation, the necessity of decentralization of department was felt and accordingly in 1972 new offices were created.
