Job Description
Maintaining a store: Ensure that the store is clean, organised and well-stocked. This includes tasks such as dusting shelves, restocking merchandise and arranging display. They receive goods from suppliers, check the goods for damage and store it appropriately. They track the movement of goods and are responsible for all paperwork relating to the receiving and dispatching of goods. They are also responsible for ordering goods to maintain sufficient levels of stock.

Job Summary:
A Store Helper assists in the daily operations of a retail or warehouse store by supporting customers, organizing inventory, and maintaining cleanliness. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a customer-friendly attitude to ensure smooth store operations and a positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Assistance & Support
- Greet and assist customers with locating products and carrying items.
- Provide product information and recommendations when required.
- Help customers load and unload heavy items as needed.
2. Stock Handling & Inventory Management
- Receive, unpack, and arrange stock on shelves or storage areas.
- Ensure products are properly labeled and displayed for easy access.
- Keep track of inventory levels and report low-stock items to supervisors.
- Assist in checking and counting stock during inventory audits.
3. Store Maintenance & Cleanliness
- Keep the store clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Sweep, mop, and dust shelves regularly.
- Ensure aisles and storage areas are neat and clutter-free.
4. Assisting with Deliveries & Logistics
- Help unload deliveries and organize items in the storage area.
- Move stock from storage to display areas efficiently.
- Ensure proper handling of fragile or perishable goods.
5. Miscellaneous Duties
- Assist in packing and bagging customer purchases.
- Provide support to cashiers and sales staff during busy hours.
- Follow safety guidelines when handling heavy or hazardous items.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- No formal education required; high school diploma preferred.
- Prior experience in a retail or warehouse environment is an advantage.
- Basic communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift/move heavy items.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
