Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
-
Maintain accurate stock levels of all clothing items, accessories, and supplies.

Regularly count inventory (daily, weekly, monthly) and report discrepancies.

Update stock records using manual logs or inventory software systems.
Receiving and Inspecting Stock
-
Receive shipments from suppliers and verify the accuracy of deliveries against purchase orders.

Inspect items for quality, quantity, and damage, and report any issues to the store manager.

Organize garments in designated stockroom areas based on category, size, or style.
Stock Issuing and Replenishment
-
Issue clothing and accessories to the sales floor as per merchandising plans.
-
Ensure timely replenishment of fast-selling or trending items.
-
Monitor low-stock items and coordinate with procurement or management for reordering.
Storage and Organization
-
Keep the stockroom clean, organized, and free from hazards.
-
Use labeled shelves, hangers, bins, and racks to organize products efficiently.
-
Rotate stock to ensure older items are sold before new arrivals (FIFO method – First In, First Out).
Coordination with Sales Staff

Respond to stock-related inquiries from sales associates and visual merchandisers.
-
Help locate specific garments requested by sales staff or customers.
-
Provide support during sales promotions, clearance events, and product launches.
Loss Prevention and Security
-
Monitor stock movement to prevent theft, misplacement, or damage.

Assist in tagging, labeling, and security tagging of clothing items.
-
Support periodic internal audits or inspections.
Record-Keeping and Reporting
-
Maintain detailed records of stock received, issued, returned, and transferred.

Prepare reports for inventory turnover, stock availability, and product performance.
-
Assist the store manager with reports during stock audits or end-of-season evaluations.
Support for Store Operations

Help in unpacking, tagging, steaming, and preparing garments for display.
-
Assist in setting up displays or rearranging stock based on seasonal or promotional themes.
-
Provide assistance during storewide events or stock clearance sales.
