Job Description
- Monitoring: Operate and monitor control systems and equipment to ensure the plant is running smoothly. Read gauges and meters to measure water output, bacterial content, and more.
- Testing: Collect and test water and sewage samples for chemical and bacterial content. Analyze the results and adjust equipment as needed.
- Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance on equipment, tanks, and filter beds.
- Reporting: Maintain logs, reports, and statistics.
- Emergency response: Respond to emergencies and public inquiries about water quality.
- Training: Provide training and instruction to lower-level operators.
- Chemical handling: Measure, mix, and transport chemicals to maintain feed stocks. Add chemicals like chlorine or ammonia to disinfect water.
- Equipment operation: Start and stop pumps, engines, and generators to control the flow of sewage.
- Security: Perform security checks of the plant and grounds.
