Job Description
Job Summary:
A Teller is responsible for handling financial transactions, assisting customers with banking services, and ensuring accurate cash management. This role involves processing deposits and withdrawals, managing customer inquiries, and maintaining compliance with banking regulations.
- Customer service: Answer questions, provide information, and build relationships with customers
- Cash handling: Receive and deposit checks, cash, and other payments, and count and package currency
- Transaction processing: Record transactions, prepare reports, and reconcile cash drawers
- New accounts: Open new accounts and help with loan applications
- Foreign currency: Exchange foreign currency
- Product promotion: Promote bank services like checking and savings accounts, loans, and credit cards
- Security: Be alert for signs of fraud and verify customer identities
- Strong math skills
- Attention to detail
- Patience
- Ability to remain calm and professional
- Knowledge of bank operations
- Ability to cross-sell products
Work Environment:
- Bank branch or financial institution.
- Requires sitting or standing for extended periods.
